The music sector is undergoing a period of deep structural change. The possibility of distributing music via the Internet by means of computers or mobile phones offers new opportunities for Europe’s music creators. Nevertheless, few musicians are prepared to utilise these new tools to reach their audiences.
DMET – the Digital Music Education and Training project – was created to develop, test and implement a full curriculum and training material to all aspects of the digital-music business for music professionals and institutes: authors, composers, performers, producers, publishers and record labels.
The main aim of the project is to strengthen the position of creative minds in Europe, especially self-marketers and micro-, small-, and medium-size enterprises in aesthetic niches, by providing better preparation for meeting the challenges of the music market and the development of new target groups.
The Project is realised with the support of the Culture 2000 programme of the European Union.
